The Boulder Mountain Wildfire Crew is currently accepting applications for the 2025 wildfire season. Applicants need to apply on our website below. The position requires a hire to be well motivated, responsible, and continually seek improvement. Daily tasks include the use of chainsaws, brush chippers, weed whackers and other wildfire mitigation equipment. Crew members may respond to a variety of emergency incidents within Boulder Mountain Fire’s district boundaries. Opportunities also exist for wildfire deployments around the country. Boulder Mountain Fire has a progressive and robust compensation procedure for crew members who participate in wildfire dispatch. Crew members may be asked to deploy on a variety of different resources including: engines, handcrews, or modules.
The Boulder Mountain Wildfire Crew typically works Monday through Thursday for 10 hours a day which includes a paid lunch break. A daily physical training regiment is included in the work day as well as a gym membership. Our season is outlined from April through the end of October, then may become weather dependent based on conditions. The crew works on a variety of mitigation projects including individual homeowner sites as well as implementing large scale fuel breaks. Additionally, paid training opportunities exist throughout the season for crew members. Wages are determined based on applicant's experience and qualifications.
Wildfire Crew Member:
Compensation: $19.50/hour - $23/hour dependent on experience and qualifications. We have a transparent pay scale which determines wage based on qualifications. Opportunities for growth exist within our organization through a training program all crew members participate in.
Required Qualifications: Wildland Firefighter Type 2 (S-130/190), Chainsaw Faller 3 (FAL3)
